Testimonies & Thanksgiving

  • Earlier this year on 16 March, through a series of events, we were led to attend worship service at RiverLife for the first time. As the church’s season of Prayer & Fasting was ongoing, we were invited to participate. Little did we know that God was calling Poon back to Himself. On 1 April, Poon gave his life to Jesus. At the recent Zonal Camp we attended in June, Poon had his first deep encounter with the Holy Spirit where he wept for the first time. The experience was deeply transformational and firmly grounded his faith. Since then, our family has been led into a new rhythm – prayerful, joyful, and united, finding delight in praying not just together but also for one another. All glory and thanks to Jesus for this miraculous restoration and healing in our lives!

  • “Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.” – These words in Isaiah 61:7 were prayed over me in March this year. I was overwhelmed because the words were like water to my soul, bringing much comfort in a dark season I was going through. I was still recovering from losing a sum of money to someone who took advantage of the burden God has put in my heart for the nations. God knew the grief & pain I was experiencing and filled my spirit with joy when I was prayed for at a prayer meeting. I want to give thanks to God for His unfailing love. He has never forsaken me, even when I was lost in grief and pain. No matter what you’re facing, put your full trust in God. He sees you, He knows your heart, and He will restore.

  • For years, I was unable to express my love to God and found it difficult to believe that He is a good, good Father. My family was also facing challenges of misunderstanding and unforgiveness, and I felt so overwhelmed. Healing started through our annual season of Prayer & Fasting over the past few years. I grew closer to God and became more sensitive to the Holy Spirit. God kept my family together – healing our relationship with Him first, and then with one another. We are still His work in progress, but now I experience the freedom to express my love for God and worship Him with so much joy and gratitude.

  • In February this year, I felt the Lord pursuing me and calling me to Him. My friend, Jayden, invited me to RiverLife Church and I gave my life to Jesus on 1 April. My decision did not go very well with my parents who are pre-believers. For the next few days, I cried and asked God to give me strength. I was so afraid that my faith might break my family apart. Then, I had two powerful encounters with God on 5 & 10 April during our season of Prayer & Fasting and surrendered the situation to the Him. My dad subsequently spoke to me and I thank God for working, softening hearts, healing relationships, and writing a beautiful story.

  • 2025 has been the year of so much more! After many years of praying, revival has come to our family. God is restoring our marriage and has given us the heart to love and serve the younger generation as a couple. It is wonderful to serve the house of God together as a family through the various ministries. Although this year has been filled with challenges, God has been so faithful in seeing us through. Recently, on Monday, Ben slipped and had a serious fall. The back of his head hit the corner of the hand railing as he fell. It was a heavy impact and the whole hand railing shook loudly. Despite the huge bruise, praise God the CT scan came back fine! If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) All glory to God!
