The last two weeks has seen increasing new cases of COVID-19 in foreign workers’ dormitories. But those who are well cannot work and are locked in during circuit breaker, with limited access to food. These foreign workers are in dire need as some have not been paid and have no money to buy food.
Alliance of Guest Workers Outreach (AoGWO), a Christian charity, has been providing meals to more than 12,000 of these workers daily. For a start, our church donated $12,000 on 21 Apr 2020 to this charity in defraying the costs of providing meals to these foreign workers.
God instructs us through scripture to open wide our hands to help and support not only our own people, but also those in need. RiverLifers, let us do our part to care for those who have been affected by this pandemic. You can do so by donating through RiverLife Community Services (RCS). The money raised will be channeled to those who are suffering financially because of this pandemic and include both Singaporeans and foreign workers.
