In 2009, Professor Yohanes Surya founded Surya College of Education in Jakarta. This college equips students from remote areas in Indonesia (especially Papua) to become educators who will impact their hometowns through education.
Papua is largest and easternmost province of Indonesia and has a population of 2.8 million people. The main language spoken is Bahasa Indonesia. Developing at an unprecedented rate, Papua’s health and education systems are in great need of continuing development.
RiverLife Church Partnership with Surya College
Since 2014, RiverLife Church has been partnering with Surya College to reach out and sow into the spiritual lives of the students so that they can also be God’s instrument and change agent in their spheres of influence.
